Program development and maintenance with 4GL (ABAP, CSP and NATURAL) have the same requirements relating to security, correction and reconstruction as conventional development methods.

When document dependencies and statuses are not absolutely clear, and there is no ability to reconstruct single documents and/or whole applications, it is very difficult to maintain and manage 4GL-objects correctly.

Solution using SET-LIBER/4GL

SET-LIBER provides the same cross reference capabilities for 4GL objects as for 3GL objects. This is achieved using the features SET-LIBER/ABAP4, SET-LIBER/CSP and SET-LIBER/NATURAL.

The Cross-References offer the end-user real-time, current information regarding the object relationships and their processing status.

The reservation for processing and the transmission into the next processing level (for example, to function-test and/or quality-check), as well as the transfer into production is controlled by SET-LIBER based on company pre-defined specifications. The end-user still works within his familiar 4GL-environment, SET-LIBER will automatically process 4GL-objects.
