SET
Software Entwicklungsteam GmbH

Overview

Many years of hands-on experience within medium to large companies, of in-house change management tools, unchanged even right up to today, led us to the belief, in 1984, that only a totally comprehensive set of administrative procedures for the control and management of software objects, would satisfy the needs of this Enterprise market place, and, further, that we should take on the task of developing such a product.

This conviction, followed by careful market analysis, led to the setting up of SET Software Entwicklungsteam GmbH, in Kaarst in Germany.

The first goal of developing, and selling, a standard product for Change and Configuration Management (CCM) in the Enterprise market, was achieved by the introduction to market of SET-LIBER in 1987. To fully control the administration process, and to make absolutely clear the complex interrelationships of any one software object with any other or others, an interactive Online-Repository was developed in 1994 and added to the already successful SET-LIBER product. The addition of Web browser and Web server facilities via SET-LIBER/Connect around the beginning of 2000 has created a unique, fully Cross Platform, Change and Configuration Management system.

The strategic planning requirements of SET-LIBER users and the needs of corporate Intranets, and of course the Internet and web sites, will guide the priorities of the development teams at SET, for the future.

SET's concentration of experienced developers for the maintenance and future development of our industry standard Change and Configuration Management product SET-LIBER, will allow us to react quickly to user requests, sometimes preempt these requests and to satisfy our users in a unique way.

Training

User training when SET-LIBER is installed is second to none, whether it is installed as a new concept, it replaces an existing system or the existing system is supported through SET-LIBER. Whatever the installation procedure, SET-LIBER training is simple.

With new concept or replacement systems the SET-LIBER training takes 2-4 hours, depending on the level of detail required and the users experience. The SET-LIBER adminitrator will need up to 8 hours of additional training.

Any further training needed when SET-LIBER upgrades are installed, is usually carried out by the SET technicians when the upgrade is delivered and installed, on site.

This SET-LIBER product education is usually carried out by the SET installation team, during the installation and acceptance testing phases, on site and is free of charge.

Support, maintenance and future development

For the most effective and efficient implementation of SET-LIBER, fully trained and experienced SET personnel will be on site to oversee all phases of the project, from the planning and analysis, installation, modification right through to the implememtation including the migration of database contents.

Further development of SET-LIBER will include support for new hardware and software systems as well as new technology and will also take account of users strategic requirements. All new developments are made available as part of ongoing maintenance agreements with users, all users will benefit from this process.

As part of the SET-LIBER support and maintenance process, full discussions are carried out with the SET-LIBER administrator, on site, about the new release detail and any re-installation which may be necessary.

SET-LIBER support and maintenance is available via telephone hot line, computer based links via the Internet or on site. These services are free to users.
