Because of the importance of company data-processing documents (for example programs, program segments, Job Control) maintenance and updates must not be left to manual control. All access and modification to these documents have to be audit proof and capable of reconstruction by computer. The consequences on other documents and the information regarding both their development status and processing status, have to be always up to date and complete for the use by amongst others, the program developer, operations scheduler etc..

SET-LIBER provides the solution for the management and documentation of programs, Job Control-Streams (JCL) and other documents. SET-LIBER is able to provide audit proof reconstruction and offers up to date information for the whole organisation, programming, quality control, security, operations scheduling... ...your complete information systems requirement.

SET-LIBER allows for the Management of "Configurations" (ie. a freely definable combination of interdependent documents) using the following options:

• manual definition of related documents in text files (ie. Configuration Description)
• automatic completion of Configuration Descriptions by the recognition of dependent documents, by reference to the Repository
• fixing of the Configuration Status (e.g. complete project status/distribution status)
• automatic reconstruction of any prior, date related Configuration Status

The SET-LIBER Online Repository provides, amongst other things, information relating to the history and active Cross References of related documents. There is no additional requirement for the programmers to provide further Repository information; this information will be automatically formulated during storage of each document in SET-LIBER and is available to the user at any time. The SET-LIBER/CSP, SET-LIBER/NATURAL and SET-LIBER/ABAP4 features accommodate these common 4GL languages.

The use of SET-LIBER results in the management and audit of the compile/catalog, test, quality control and transfer into production process, following company procedures.

SET-LIBER/Connect extends the Change and Configuration Management benefits to the Client-Server environment.

Use of SET-LIBER meets the following requirements for existing or new data-processing-projects, providing for the security of document administration and the accuracy of the relevant documentation:

• All changes to documents are managed with an audit trail.
• The last status of each document or configuration is confirmed.
• The history of the documents or configurations is audit proof.
• The documentation for complete programs and any constituent parts, is automatically generated from the source code.
• Information about changes to program documents and any interdependencies (e.g. program or copy book) is always up-to-date.
• Consequences of changes for the execution of necessary compile or catalog-jobs are clear for the program developers (online).
• Preceding statuses of each single document and/or complete configurations may be reconstructed, automatically, at any time.
